Hey there!
My name is Hannah Merges and I am an ocean conservationist, a PADI Divemaster, a free diver, and an explorer. Currently I am pursuing my Masters degree in the Silbiger Lab at California State University Northridge. Interested in my research? Check out my projects on the research tab. I am passionate about marine science education and making the ocean more accessible for folks across the world. Being able to share my underwater experiences and provide some insight into the incredible beauty of our oceans is what motivated me to, well, create this website! So, thanks for being here!
A Little Bit
About Me
I am a marine scientist with a love for sharing my connection to the water. I use she/her pronouns and am a #steminist, strongly believing that all voices and perspectives should be represented, heard, and valued in the sciences and beyond.

My academic background is in environmental studies, marine science, and anthropology. So, while I have spent many hours in the lab and out in the field conducting research, I have recently developed a passion for storytelling.

I also freelance as an editor, grant writer, content creator, and tutor :)

The ocean is a breathtaking, beautiful world that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about and experience. My hope is that through sharing some of its magic with you all, we can create empathy that translates into the protection and conservation of these invaluable ecosystems.
